Quest Kenmare is a new and exciting Quest destination for 2018. It’s a one-day multi-adventure sports race which encompasses the amazing mountains of the Beara Peninsula and boutique charm of Kenmare Town. Run, cycle and kayak across the spectacular mountains and valleys to challenge yourself in 2018.

The Route

We discovered 3 challenging routes to test you no matter what level of fitness you have. Run, cycle and kayak across the Kenmare Bay, Gleninchiquinn, The Beara Peninsula, Caha Pass and Kenmare town. 67k Expert, 50K Sport & 29K Challenge.

67k Expert

Stage 1: Cycle – 20km

Description: Starting in the Square in Kenmare Town you will proceed on bike to cycle along the stunning Ring of Beara Cycle Route and to Gleninchaquin Park and waterfall. From here you will drop your bike at the transition area.

Stage 2: Trail Run – 6km

Description: Drop your bike at the bike racking in transition and run around Gleninchaquin Park trail over a 300ft waterfall and secret valleys.

Stage 3: Cycle – 36km

Description: You will proceed to cycle from the transition area back the main ring of Beara road and turn off right up to an area known locally as Dromoghty and onto the N71 Caha Pass road at Releagh Bridge.

Stage 4: Forest Trail – 2.6km

Description: Drop your bike at the bike racking in transition on the left-hand side as you go over the bridge in Kenmare. Proceed to run a looped trail around Reenagross and cross the road to the kayak transition at the pier

Stage 5: Kayak 1.0km

Description: Kayak on Kenmare Bay from the Pier area on Double sit on top kayaks

Stage 6: Run to Finish – 1.00km

Description: After finishing the kayak stage you will run down Henry Street Kenmare to a festival atmosphere at the finish line at the Square.


50k Sport

Stage 1: Cycle – 20km

Description: Starting in the Square in Kenmare Town you will proceed on bike to cycle along the stunning Ring of Beara Cycle Route and to Gleninchaquin Park and waterfall. From here you will drop you bike at the transition area.

Stage 2: Trail Run – 6km

Description: Drop your bike at the bike racking in transition and run around Gleninchaquin Park trail over a 300ft waterfall and secret valleys.

Stage 3: Cycle – 19.6km

Description: You will proceed to cycle from the transition area back the main ring of Beara road and turn off right up an area known locally as Dromoghty and on to the N71 Caha Pass road at Releagh Bridge.

Description: Drop your bike at the bike racking in transition on the left hand side as you go over the bridge in Kenmare. Proceed to run a looped trail around Reenagross and cross the road to the kayak transition at the pier

29k Challenge

Stage 1: Cycle – 10.70km

Description: Starting in the Square in Kenmare Town you will proceed on bike to cycle along on the Sheen Valley and to Bonanne Hertiage Park. From here you will drop you bike at the transition area.

Stage 2: Trail Run – 4km

Description: Drop your bike at the bike racking in transition in Bonanne Heritage Park and run 2 laps around the heritage park passing ancient ring forts and stone circles 1,000 of years old.

Stage 3: Cycle – 9.50km

Description: You will proceed to cycle from the transition area back the main N71 Caha Pass road across the Bridge in Kenmare.

Stage 4: Forest Trail – 2.6km

Description: Drop your bike at the bike racking in transition on the left-hand side as you go over the bridge in Kenmare. Proceed to run a looped trail around Reenagross and cross the road to the kayak transition at the pier

Stage 5: Kayak – 1.0km
